Private investigators?!?!?

I have been contacted by a 'private investigator' working out of cartwright court huddersfield.

Now what !!!!!s my radar is that this has went to my grandparents house, not my address that I have been living at for the past year and I own no-one any monies.

The letter is very short letter, saying they are a PI and would like me to get in contact with them.

They have provided an 0800 number to contact.

Just wondering if anyone has had any dealing with them and is there any way of checking if it is a genuine company.

UK Data has no connection with that address! UK Data are not even based in Huddersfield!

What you have is an address of another company in Cartwright Court for which UK Data holds credit reports!

Does it actually say its anything to do with any debt? It may be someone is trying to contact you. Or you may have been left money in the will of a very distant relative.

I'd phone it. Whats the worst that could happen?

They Have begun to phone my aunty, who lives in the same town as my grandparents but not that close to them. Got another letter saying to contact them and that they are working on behalf of a client.

I just want to be sure this is not a hoaks(?) just wanting to get money out of me.

Exercise some caution,dont say too much about yourself if you ring .
If they want an address from you ,do you have a third party who would be prepared to let them write to you at that address?

Getting someone else and their address involved (whether the private Investigator is genuine or not) seems a completely barmy idea!
