Help: car hire in France - age 25

Hi, needing some help here...

Have booked flights with ryanair into Poitiers airport and we are needing car hire (Sunday to Sunday)

have checked the car hire companies at the airport and only 2 are open on Sundays at the time we arrive and depart, cant remember which 2!

The problem i have is the young driver charge of around £25 per day.

All the companies at the airport say in the terms and conditions that aged 21-25 will be charged a young driver subcharge when picking up the car, but if i book through holiday autos and a few other sites the terms say 21-24 years old or under 25 will incur a charge.

I am 25!

What I want to know is, can/will the car hire company at the airport try and charge me the young driver subcharge when the terms and conditions I booked with tell me that i wont pay this?

Cheapest I've found so far is £280 for a Peugeot 107 (or similar) through Hertz on the Ryanair website.

Has anyone managed to find cheaper car hire rates in France ?

Thanks for that, I didn't realise that ryanair had a car hire link, they came out by far the cheapest for me, and because its hertz, their young driver subcharge only applies to 21-24 year olds!

If you search Poitiers airport you get a list of the car hire companies that are operating there, but from what I can tell only a few are open on Sundays, although hertz is supposedly closed, but must open for flights.

llindsey - Glad my post was of use to you and thankyou Razdva & Jance for your suggestions but Ryanair Hertz is still cheapest rate for me.

Any further suggestions would be much appreciated.

The smaller cars always get booked up early during the summer so if you've found a good deal don't hesitate too long otherwise it might go.

Of course if you book an economy car and they run out you'll get a free upgrade !!
