How much LPG should I be using?

We've been in our new house 8 weeks and have spent as much on LPG for heating and hot water as we spent on mains gas for the whole year at our last place.
I know LPG is expensive but we suspect there's something wrong with the boiler and/or heating controls. It would be helpful to find out if this kind of usage is reasonable before we go calling someone out to look for problems in the system.
I know there are lots of variables, but can someone give me a rough idea of reasonable gas usage. We have a 2000l tank, and in the last 7-8 weeks have used 40%. It's a 3 bed well insulated bungalow and we have the heating on roughly 3hours in the morning, and 5.5 hours in the evening (heating about 70% of the rooms). We don't use an awful lot of hot water. Any kind of ball park figures would be helpful, we don't know where to start.

I have my tank filled mid december with 1250 litres. This lasts till mid/late feb so lets say 9 weeks. Sounds ok to me. My feb filling last till december (hot water only in the sumer plus some heating)0

In our 4 bed detached we were getting through about 200 litres a week during this winter (heating, hot water and oven). That's with a new combi boiler.0

I had my 1200 lt tank topped up last June. Just had another top up to 87% and it took 750 lt.
Mind you I'm a bit tight fisted and don't use it for cooking. Hot water and heating only.0 -
Thanks everyone, that's really helpful, we had nothing to go on. It looks like we are using a reasonable amount of gas. Cheers.0
