I often find 1p , 2p , 5p 10p and the odd 20p to 50p in my job as a car park inspector
I evan have hotspots where I know I will find small change
Its not unusual to get enough for a cup of coffee or a bun daily.Only today , on my rounds , I did a routine check of the pay and display machine an dfound £1.30 in the rejects tray.
Found a £5 note recently when sent out to clear up a load of glass that some drunks had smashed the night before.0 -
I found £5 on the floor in John Menzies when I was 5 (1983). My mum made me hand it in. I returned 28 days later and it hadn't been collected so I bought a peaches n' cream Barbie doll!
Queuing at a cashpoint a woman walked off without taking her money (£50). I ran after her with it losing my place in line and she didn't even say thanks!
Slightly o.t but every year my Great Great Aunty Kit would send me £2 in coins for christmas and birthdays and every single year someone at the post office had ripped the envelope open and stolen it.0 -
M!ke wrote:I found a £50 note once, no joke, I was about 5 and I was walking to meet my mum by the school gates and I found it on the floor so I showed my mum and she suggested I handed it in to the school, so I did and some lady claimed it. I never got a thank you from her just a "thanks" as I handed it into reception.
Thats about the one and only thing i've found
If I found it now I would keep it!
Lol! bet your mum was secretly cursing she had to do the right thing and teach you some morals - if she'd spotted it herself and managed to grab it without you seeing do you think she might have kept it ??0 -
I usually check the lockers in the gym for pound coins, it's amazing how many people forget to take their pound back out once they've got changed.
(not EVERY locker I hasten to add, only the ones that are open:D)0 -
angels960 wrote:Well a pile of £2 coins, just took my lunchbreak and was relaxing in the park as usual when I saw it.
I watched it for 45 mins! I really thought it was some kind of hoax...it ended up being £12
Anyway I took it...lol
Whats the most you have ever found?
ps. am I a criminal?

A couple of weeks ago when I was pretty skint I was out with my mum and she found a £20 note on the pavement, picked it up and shared it with me. Couldnt have come at a better time

I found £40 on New Year's Day lying in the gutter all cold and wet. I took it home and made it a nice cup of tea. I found a tenner in the street some time later.
A couple of months ago, a friend was in trouble so I gave her £50.
Since then I swear my luck has been changing. I've had all sorts of "legitimate" money luck lately (small lottery wins, bonuses at work and unexpected payrises/extra jobs/offers of work).
I wonder if this is karma working for me?
Just a thought... What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -
 At this point I find myself shouting Nooooooooo! You can get a box of 6 Magnum Lookalikes at Lidl for £1.79 and they are absolutely lush, I think they are every bit as good as Magnums and possibly better and less than 30p each. They are called Gelatelli Choco, and in 3 varieties - Almond, Chocolate or Strawberry/Vanilla.angels960 wrote:LOL
Well I might join the £2 savers club as suggested, however I have had my eye on this magnum ice cream bar for ages, im too stingy...no sorry...consumer savvy to spend £1.80 on just an ice cream but today...ah! its my treat.
Well done on your find anyway - I'd have kept them too!Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0 -
