ok.. well whats the most you people have lost? I dont mean on a bet or anything like that. Jus mis=placed. :(

I've misplaced about £58,376.39. I'm sure I had it at some point, and I haven't got anything to show for it really, so I must have lost it

Maybe if I keep chanting the mantra whilst looking under my chushions I'll find it again

I once found £5 in Sainsburys and I was very good and handed it in. They gave me a receipt and said come back in a week and if it's not claimed it's yours! I went back and it was indeed mine! I was a student at the time and so it came in very handy!

I also found a mobile phone in the street and handed it into the police expecting them to ask for my address so I could have it if it wasn't claimed, but they didn't ask, so I never saw a penny! Wish I'd kept it now and sold it on Mopay!!

strictly speaking you are supposed to hand anything you find to the police who will take your details and if no one claims it in a certain period of time then it's yours. But I doubt the police would thank us if everyone who found a fiver took it in to them LOL

    Enjoy the money :)

I agree with Looby and it would actually cost the cost the country more if every tom, !!!!!! and harry (or harriet for equality) spent police time noting all the details regarding cash that has been handed in.

Becuase of this - and purely in the nature of saving tax payers' money, I don't mind facilitating this so if people want to just send the money to me, I'll make sure it gets to the police in one transaction, saving time and money.

I don't expect to be paid for this service.. as I've always been of the thought that you've got to give something back to society!!

I once found £30 (a twenty and a ten) on the pavement. It was a really busy pedestrian street and no-one else seemed to have noticed it! I stood there with it in my hand for ages dithering about whether to hand it in or not (and waiting to see if any little old ladies came along looking distraught about losing their pension money), but in the end just pocketed it and felt a bit guilty. I was totally skint at the time, though, so it was very handy.

  • On the few occassions that I have found cash I have always handed it in........I always think I won't then chicken out at the last second and hand it in at the counter (usually find it in shops!!) I always panic that it might belong to someone who needs it more than I do!!! (what an eejit!!)

Found some car keys once, and handed them into the police, and the couple gave me a fiver to say thanks, which I thought was really nice!

All this karma stuff seems to backfire on me, I never give cash to the homeless, but on a few occassions have spent £2-3 on food, milk, and gone and given it to them, one time right near xmas I did this, went back to my car and the bloomin thing wouldnt start............so I went over to a shop to see how much a battery would be, and decided against it!!! walking back to the car, saw the homeless lad I had given the food to really stuffing his face with the ham and rolls I had just bought him, in between biting chunks out of the apple, swilling it down with huge swigs of milk, I felt all warm inside......got back to my car......still wouldnt start!!! Had to bump start it driving the wrong way round a multistorey (cos I needed to go downhill!!) with people stopping the traffic for me, and pushing me!!! Karma does not smile on me!!!
I believe that I have the strength to make my dreams come true
