Can you use the same cable for satellite dish and loft aerial?

Got another question please.........If I go the whole hog and replace the aerial cable from the loft aerial and run new stuff all over the place, is there any reason why I can't terminate the ends in 'F' connection wallplates rather than the usual tv socket connection plates?
Wouldn't the F ones be better/more secure? I can then run a length of coax with an F connector at one end and a usual tv connector at the other, to go between the tv and the wall plate.
There is no problem in doing that at all - just a matter of preference about connector style. I suppose the f-connectors are less suseptible to noise, but the difference will be marginalChris Elvin0 -
You can use the same type of cable (satellite) for aerial.
If you have the right unit in your loft ("Loftbox" is one brand) then you can use the same cable to run analogue tv / freeview / satellite / FM / DAB to the outlet. You still need 2 cables if you want to use Sky+ or similar though.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -

I tried ordinary coax with freeview and couldn't get a signal.
Replaced with good quality coax and now get a perfect picture (with 2 TV's running off one aerial).
I would recommend satellite coax for the complete run, including the patch cable.
"ordinary" TV plugs work fine on sat' cable.0
