but the sun is shining and I want to play outside.......:p
I have sorted the post rather than just chucking it somewhere, does this count? I am going to go and do half an hour on the paperwork drawers and then half hour [STRIKE]smiling[/STRIKE] gardening.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Glad to see we are off to a good start ladies (well good intentions at least)
Hex like you I sorted the post and I have done the kitchen hotspot.
I did sneak a little 10 minutes taking the yucky leaves off the ariculas.
Builder keeps interrupting me to make decisions and DH keeps phoning me about a tv he wants to buy (bargain 2nd hand from somebody he works with).
Hex once I've done one box of kids work I'm treating myself to HH pruning and grinningThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Have collected together all the photos and they are now in one box. Sorting them and 'filing' them will be a long job, but they are at least all in one place now and I can tackle it with the kids at Easter - they'll love it. It is only the really old ones and the last 5 years or so that need doing.:)
Someone (was it Dusty?) just reminded me in their post that the children's artwork needs collecting and collating. I will go and dig out some A2 folders (DH used to be a DT teacher) and they can have one or two each - I must be ruthless and chuck out the carp!!! Again this was done last year, so not too bad and shouldn't take too long!
What to do with 2 years worth of Country Living magazine? Keep or donate? Can't decide....0 -
I don't have much to declutter (well not unless I was allowed to start on DH's stuff!) but I will try to get rid of some stuff through the week.
I've done some shredding today and put stuff out for recycling. Just got a bit left to read in a magazine and that can go out too. I went through my paperwork concertina file a couple of weeks ago so that's up to date.0 -

You are doing well.
I too have a box of photos to put in albumns - about 10 years worth:o Plus I have not printed any of my digital ones (I don't want to do it until I have filed the ones I have)
I've started on DS1's box of artwork/school stuff (DS3's is done) it is hard to know what to keep but I've got a large scrap book and am just putting my favourite few in plus keeping a few large bits and coursework like stuff.
I've got about 5 years of country living and homes and gardens. They have a home in a cupboard. Each month I take out the relevant month (so about 8 mags) and look through them with a cuppa, they have all the 'current' stuff in for the season and saves buying any new ones;):money:
A freecycle member gave me loads of gardening ones which I am going to do the same with.
Just having some toast and then back to the box - I think I'll only get DS1's box done today so I might be repeating this week next week! (I'm sure we can keep the same thread and just do it all again maybe with some new joiners)The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
cosmomo - will you honestly ever look at them again? This time last year I had a pile of c100 magazines that I never looked at. I went through and cut out the bits I did want and re-homed the rest. I have tried really hard not to buy so many magazines since.
DH distracted me - he is working from home so we have been for a walk in the sunshine for his lunch break. I still need to go and do half an hour on the paperwork mountain.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Hi:j
Paper Monday- 10 files/folders' contents tidied and old stuff taken out
- Finance folder updated and mini statements taken out
- Shredding done and taken to recycling
- Cards' box emptied, cleaned, tatty ones thrown, remainder sorted. Will do a Birthday Folder to put cards chosen for each recipient in plastic wallets (I used to have one but it was too small and fell apart) so I can see what I need to buy if necessary. Why do I have a BiL birthday card when I haven't got one???
- Newspapers sorted and taken to recycling
- 10 books listed for sale (if no sale they'll go to charity shop)
Hope everyone else is enjoying Anniversary Decluttering. Thanks Dusty

It's paper orientated...
so far found cheque that needs to be banked
2 itunes vouchers and a free £25.00 nokia music voucher that needs using.
Rang tax office to query supposed 'profit' on wages...!!!!!!
rang payroll as above, needs clarifying especially as its mileage, will speak to relevent person tomorrow
Paid health bill
rang Doc and they're sending me some missing info
Redone some mileage claims as I'd got a bit wrong and resubmitted
Found out that I'm paying for phone insurance on 2 mobiles that I got at christmas so need to cancel...it was a first 3 months free offer...
Also paperish need to make a will, myself and hubby realised yesterday whilst talking that we hadn't sorted out benefactors re pensions, life insurance and everything really....this needs sorting asap. Hubby presumed his stuff (and vice versa from my side) would go to me if anything happens but this isn't necessarily the case as my Dad explained.
I have a stack of papers to be flung including catalogues, magazines and brochures.
Off to do more, back later. xDFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08
