Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs Hex2.
Gailey that is a long list to do in one day I would split it up a bit, better to get some small bits done than nothing at all especially with school holidays and kids getting under your feet.
5 black bags out yesterday:eek: Don't know were it all comes from, but my cupboards are nice and tidy:D
need to finish sorting this pc so it can go on ebay not sure if I will get much more done today as we are out for the day tomorrow so need to get stuff sorted for that but will be back to it on thursday:D
Goodluck everyone with decluttering.:jmember of the thrifty gifty 2011 :j0 -

First have a hug.
Second we all get overwhelmed at times hence the need for the thread
You seem to be trying to do an awful lot at once. How about concentrating on one room/or thing a day and do what you can. Next day move onto something new and if you achieve that then go back and do a bit more of the day before stuff? I didn't finish my paper jobs yesterday but I have made a start on the cotton jobs today. My lists will get smaller as the days/weeks pass.
Good luck.
I've tidied the coats, one in the washer, no point trying them on anyone until the cold weather sets in as they could well have all grown by then.
DS2 does need new school troussers so a trip to the loft once I've tried on DS3's. If not knew ones from ASDA when I do the swimming run on Friday (I park in their carpark).
Couple of phone calls to make and then back to the grind.
Hex - hope DS and DH are feeling better this afternoon and Happy 5th Anniversary - very apt for this thread! The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
I have decluttered 2 more black bags of rubbish and one pc tower from downstairs:T
Gailey I would do one room a day and do it properly be hard on yourself if it hasn't been used in 6 months do you need it? If you finish one room go to the next give them a good deep clean and a good sort out and if hubbys is moaning chuck him a black bag and tell him to get stuck in then you at least are not having to do it on your own:D:jmember of the thrifty gifty 2011 :j0 -
Hello,
Can I join you please. I have following categories to go through at some point:
- garage
- under stairs cupboard
- bedroom floor
- my wardrobe
- DD's wardrobe
- Chest of drawers in spare room
- books (5000 of them )
I am starting today by freecycling a toilet step that DD doesn't need anymore (when did she manage to grow so tall?), oh and last week chucked so much paper out that my recycling bin was full :T
Here is the how:
- Love it (=keep)
- Need it (=keep)
- Sell it (eBay, eBid, Amazon, green metropolis, gumtree, carboot, netmums?)
- Give it (friends, colleagues, charity shop)
- Freecycle it
- Recycle it
- Bin it"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Thought I'd better show face!
2 bags of paperworklots to go yet
4 bags of clothing and old towels etc. Anybody have a round table and fance a white and a burgundy cloth? They are damask with a holly leaf pattern through, lovely and only both used twice, I have bought a rectangular table and they are too good to CS. pm me if you would like them. Still have a huge pile to sort through, listen for me screaming if it falls on me please, someone!
Ordered the boys' uniform stuff from M&S and will go to schoolshop tomorrow for what jumpers etc are needed. Tomorrow I don't have much in the way of leather, I did my bags last week, so I will go back to the paperwork:(
Thanks again Dusty this has been a good help. XIt's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0
