Your not supposed to read the small print? !!!!!!

Hi Guys, just needed to have a little rant about my lunch yesterday.

Went to a local pub, dont think its a chain. But anyway ordered a Beer & burger for £4.99.

When the order came, looked fine. Noticed coldslaw was missing, it was stated in the description includes chips & coldslaw.
Called a lady over, explained about missing coldslaw. thought everything would be fine. 5 min later she comes waddling over, 'coldslaw is'nt included'
Showed her the deal and the description stating what is included. Guess what she replied.... Oh well your not supposed to read the small print!

What?? She then repeated this a few times, adding noone had ever noticed that it included coldslaw. I replied, good job iv got my bloody head screwed on then!

Still not got coldslaw.... she troddles off to the kitchen, comes back and tells me its not included. I explain to her that they should not be advertising that it is included and i think its a bloody cheek!

She then brings me over a meesley little portion of coldslaw. I then ask her if it had been fiddled with!
Anyway, it just annoyed me that much that i didnt even eat it i left it in its little pot on my plate :rotfl:

Sorry but when have you ever been told to not read the small print! what a joke!

Jut needed a rant, and i know its only coldslaw but hey if it says its included.... then give it x

So you mithered for it then didn't eat it?? What's the point?

The thing about people aren't supposed to read the small print is crazy and if they advertise something then that's what you should get. If you really wanted to colslaw and the meal you were going to eat wasn't complete then fair enough it's worth complaining and moaning about but to go through all that then leave it anyway seems a total waste of your time and their time.

  • To be honest, i didnt really eat it as i was afraid they would have 'messed' with it. e.g spit!

Also, after about 15min of waiting for it and arguing i didnt fancy it. My whole rant was about the Not reading small print :)

To be honest i would not have eaten it either, you made the fuss....then kind of stated that you wanted the meal as described, the good lord only knows what they may! have done to that in the privacy of the kitchens.

    It is called Coleslaw.

Maybe that is why you didn't get any?

so poster calls it coldslaw...we all knew what he/she meant didnt we?
and yes if the menu says the meal includes it - then i would expect it too. and ask why it was missing. and if the waitress started blathering about not reading the small print and it took 15 minutes to arrive - I would have already finished my meal and wouldnt want it anyway! besides which - yeah i bet someone spat in it!
feel better now for the rant hun? i would make a point of going in again and ordering same meal but on different day - if the coleslaw is still missing - then inform trading standards or consumer whatsits (never know which one is appropriate these days).

That's fair enough but then again if it's the type of place where the staff may 'mess' with the food then I wouldn't eat there in the first place, and certainly not now if they're likely to remember you after making a fuss then leaving it after all that.

Right, so our country is on its knees and you want to waste a local council employee's time on a tiny pot of coleslaw? C'mon, I'm sure they have bigger fish to fry.

OP - best bet is to just vote with your feet, and make sure your friends/colleagues know as well.

    Oh, and it's COLESLAW.

It could have been the chips - I mean it is in the small print too. I think the OP has a valid reason to complain, as it was advertised as being included.

Its a whole different kettle of fish if a customer gets tied into a contract for not reading the small print.
