I would like to replace 35 off halogen 50w GU10 downlighters with LEDs. I am looking at Philips bulbs > http://shop.philips.co.uk/servlet/ControllerServlet?Action=DisplayProductDetailsPage&Locale=en_GB&SiteID=rpeeub2c&productID=170037100
Can anyone advise cheap supplier?
Can anyone advise supplier for downlighter including bulb?
Can anyone suggest a better alternative?
Many Thanks :A

Have you tried any of these LED's in your home?
The light from these is very white, stark, cold and just plain hideous. And I'd question the claims of having the same light output as 35w halogens too.
Not sure about alternatives either, as all the current LED technology is more or less the same - rubbish for home use0 -
missile..are you replacing in order to have cheaper running costs?Herman - MP for all!0

Assuming these do a direct replacement (which I have doubt) it will take you years to get money back at £24.95 a bulb0

It depends on how much you use them- if they are on a lot the payback could be 6 months. I worked out that a pub would have payback in 6 months as the lights were on 10 hours a daybaldly going on...0 -
I bought some off ebay from this seller.

Paid around £21 for ten. The lamps are natural daylight so are a cold blueish light and not warm for example like a filament lamp.
They do what they say on the label and I figured for that price if they werent to my liking it was a cheaper option.
Hope this helps...0 -

Phillips claim their bulbs give out most light, but it seems each manufacturer claim their bulbs are the best.
What do you think about these, they are the cheapest I have found > http://www.energybulbs.co.uk/products/LED+Light+Bulbs/High+Performance+LEDs/High+Performance+GU10+LEDs/Deltech+Triple+High+Power+5W+GU10+LED+%285+Watt%29/453748016
I was hoping to replace my cheapo downlighter fitments at the same time."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

I am trying to save electricity. I have recently aquired a minim monitor which gives instant feedback for electricity used and was shocked to see how much my lighting consumes."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Yes, you are probably right there. I will need to do some sums. Maybe I shall just replace as and when the old ones pop.
This is quite interesting > http://www.osram.com/_global/Flash_files/General_Lighting/light-a-home/lighthouse_popup.jsp?conf=COM-en"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
