Any ideas on this one, please?
Which one , I gues you mean the "Have done the HP ones but one update failed and got an error code of: 80070026 and not sure what to do? (Did try googling first)" . That possibly be related not having the Windows Updates on first , let me google and have a look/think ;)

^Does it allow you to retry the update? Which update is it?

As busenbust says which update if you can remember, if not unless something on the pc is not working (hardware wise eg graphics/dvd/web cam etc) it may well be it came in with the windows update anyhow and if your pc is working as far as you can tell i would leave the last 6 letters of your userid in the outbox and call yourself IH8 for a couple of days;)

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner - didn't realise it was teatime!

Checked with my son, it could have been windows update he was doing, not HP. He can't remember which update failed, he just wrote down the error code.

Have done more updates today, so it's possible it's got them all now.

Debitcard, I'm probably being abit dim but is your last sentence a joke or advice?
