Hi thriftlady,

I don't see a problem with your signature as you are not directing people to read your blog. :)

Until recently MSE users were allowed to link to their own blogs providing the blogs didn't contain advertising or anything that could be construed as for personal gain, in any way. Recently a decision has been taken that nobody can link to their own blog (or website) at all. I'm guessing that it's an issue with resources and that the team don't have the time to check each and every link and also that blogs can have advertising added after they've originally been posted.

That decision was taken by the team, not by the board guides. So all that I can suggest is that if anyone has a problem with the policy, they take it up with the MSE team either by contacting them directly at abuse@moneysavingexpert.com or by posting on the Site Feedback: Questions & suggestions board where they are more likely to read it.

    Thanks,

    Pink

I think from what I remember of the thread PP linked to (which was subsequently moved) that although a blog may contain no advertising NOW, there is no guarantee that the blogger won't put advertising on their blog in the future and the link will remain on MSE which doesn't allow advertising. ;)

Thriftlady, The rules don't say anything about mentioning blogging so I don't see a problem with your signature but the rules ask that people don't either link to blogs or direct people to their homepage. :)
