Apologies if this has been discussed before but has anyone gone for this?

Doesn't seem a bad deal. You only pay for the energy you use, save up to £150 and get a free electricity monitor.

It's not available on their cheapest tariff. You already have a meter. All you need is a calculator or a spreadsheet. Do it yourself and save even more.

"You only pay for the energy you use" - that's generous!

"save up to £150" - if you use £110 less of energy

"free electricity monitior" - granted, you get this, but the free one most of us already have is adequate for many

What is their cheapest tariff? I am on Click Energy 6 which I thought was their cheapest!

Yes, you don't need a meter but I pay by monthly DD to get the cheapest deal so why should I give them more than I use?

Click Energy 6 is a cheap tariff. [STRIKE]But they will (probably) not let you have EnergySmart in combination with it[/STRIKE].

Edit: Okay, my mistake, Click 6 is an eligible tariff.

Hah! I retract my retraction. WebSaver 6 is cheaper than Click 6 - about £95 cheaper for the national average. And WebSaver 6 is not available with EnergySmart.

In my region, the EnergySmart tariff for new customers appears in 20th place! (Okay, take the end of year £40 bonus off and it bumps up to 15th place. But WebSaver 6 is £150/110 cheaper and in 2nd place (but only £95 cheaper than Click 6).

I have the BG minim and it is quite a clever little gadget. It shows me the electricity I am using at any given time. I like the instant feedback.

I do know how to calculate consumption from the appliance rating. Nevertheless I was surprised to see how much each appliance uses.

    Thanks for the information.

Can you let me have the comparison site that says Websaver6 is cheaper than Click Energy 6?

I know all these tariffs are meant to confuse and comparison sites are not always correct!
  • Like all tariffs, EnergySmart will benefit some but not all, it's really down to your consumption. For me it would be a bad deal

    No? what are you on?

It does cover the BG tariffs in question though, in fact looks like it does nearly 40 BG tariffs, no wonder folks get confused!
