If Item Is Collect In Person Should Buyer Assume They Can Send Courier?

  • I have to admit I was a bad buyer this week *hangs head in shame*.

I messaged a seller to ask if they would (please, please) post or allow me to arrange courier.
No response, and the item only had a few hours to go.
I watched it until sniping time in a dilema, but then I saw that the other bidders were obviously traders, so probably no-where near the seller either.

    I bid and won. :o
Luckily the seller couldn't be nicer, even offered to split the cost of the postage with me (I declined and sent her the full amount plus a few extra quid for packaging).

In my defence I would have agreed to a mutual without a murmur, but I still feel a bit bad for being one of those bidders.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. :p
  • I bought a guitar and amp a couple of weeks ago from somebody who put pick up only in their advert. I wrote a few days before the auction ended, and even suggested a courier to use, and he was happy to use it.

We both benefited in that he had a sale he wouldn't have made with local pick up only, and I got what I wanted at a fair price.

Every case on it's merit I say.
What is happening to the English Language? These are not isolated, but repeated every day.
'Definate', 'Aswell', 'Rediculous', 'Payed'...and the best of all 'Could Of'. How can anyone think that 'Could Of' can actually mean anything. You may as well write 'Could Zebra' for all the sense it makes.

Oh yes, keith I came across your post yesterday - how rude!!

I came across a post on the ebay boards about someone who sent a sink by buyer arrange courier & it got smashed & they had to refund it - £5 lmao! :)

Must be my week, someone didn't pay last week & today I discover sellers can't leave a negative to warn others, only a positive
