Too many staffies are bought as status dogs by people who don't have the skills or environment to care for the dog.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

what makes people want to get rid of staffs? is it the chewing do you think? mine used to chew a lot as a pup, but hes the best dog ever! couldnt think of getting rid.
I don't know, I guess that JRT and Staffies are the top two popular breeds that get bought as pets and the owners then get bored with them once the novelty has worn off and they become too much hassle for them.0 -
I dont think you are looking for a JRT but a Parson Russell? or Parson Russell x?poorly_scammo wrote: »
I am wary of using websites to find a puppy, paranoid perhaps but there we are and pedigree parsons breeders charge a fortune.
Thanks
Have you looked on dogpages forum?0 -

I think this is true. It might be un-pc but it is the chavs' dog of choice and I do wonder how many are properly cared for. Similarly, alsatians, rotties etc. "I'm a big, hard man cos I've got a 'vicious' dog". Sad.4.30: conduct pigeon orchestra...0 -
People get Jack Russells as they thing they are cute little dogs like chiuauas. They are working dogs and feisty little b*uggers like all terriers which is why I like them so much.4.30: conduct pigeon orchestra...0

So its the mutley short legged JR you want, not the pedigree Parson Russell type with long legs?
There shouldnt be a problem as mentioned above, next to Staffies, short legged JRs are the most frequent in rescues.
Where have you looked so far? Have you tried rescue remedies if you are up for feisty?

He looks beautiful. Well worth the travelling Id have thought (6 hours journey to see our last rescue boy and worth every single mile - he is absolute wonderful). To get the right dog you need to put in the effort.
Let us know how you get on. Id phone them as there is likely to be a lot of interest.
