I'm sorry, Lee, but I am struggling to understand what you expect from the Utility companies. You've agreed to pay quarterly in arrears and the company's credit terms are that you have to pay within fourteen days of the billing date; something that's standard across the industry. You then seem to be irritated when the companies become (rightfully) a little heavy handed when you fail to stick by your end of the bargain.

We've given you several ideas, all of which need you to take proactive steps to manage your money effectively so that you have the money available within the time given to pay the bill, yet you don't wish to see that it's you not managing your money which is causing the problem, not the utility companies' credit control departments.

Whatever we suggest, you're going to say "no, that won't work for me", so there's little point trying to help you here, and I don't know why you asked the question in the first place. Any company is going to cause a fuss if you don't pay on time.

Unless you take some proactive steps, chances are you'll be pushed by the energy companies onto a pre-payment meter as that way, they know they have the money for the energy you use before you use it.

I'm ducking out of this conversation now I've said my piece, as there's not much more to say.

Scottish power Emailed me thismorning asking me to ring them regarding my complaint as they had tried to ring me but my number was not upto date

I have just got off the phone right now with them spoke to a very nice guy who went over my past bills and found I had only made late payments 4 times in the past 4 years

other than that my account is it good order he repetitively apologised for what has happened and removed the payment plan as HE said is it wasn't needed.

shame its too late and i have changed
