Not sure what obligations under eu regs you are referring to...the op took her flight and was given all 'comfort' as under this reg...if you want to pm me the details I'll have a look through it for you (I worked as a senior cs advisor for a major holiday company).

I think WickedWolfie is referring to the possibility of the OP and others on this flight who may have a claim on the airline for possible compensation for delay under the regulation: http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=CELEX:32004R0261:EN:HTML which was reinforced in November by the Sturgeon judgement in the ECJ: http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=CELEX:62007J0402:EN:HTML.

This ruling provided for the same level of compensation to be paid as if the flight had been cancelled so Article 7 comes into play for delays in excess of 3 hours as well as for cancellations.
