maybe they did, We arrived at the airport at 7.30 in the morning checked in pottered around went and had some breakfast, and waited till our flight was called, we where due to fly at about 12.05 something like that, any way it was snowing but not that much, we had to wait for the buses to take us to aircraft which took about 11/2 hrs, due to the weather they said, we where all loaded on by this time we had missed our slot. we sat on the plane for 5 1/2 hrs waiting for the craft to be deiced to take off. in the end they said they could not fly because they had they had run out of there time and there was not another spare crew!!! we where told to go back into airport where we would be met by a THOMAS COOK rep :rotfl:we never saw one till the next day:eek: in between times we learned of other passangers that we where to bed down for the night, we where given a £5 voucher at the info desk and this was at about 11 in the evening. by this time there was no where open  as luck happened we had a very nice police men on who opened up a cafe and we where served chips and egg at 11.45. They also managed to get us a few blankets and pillows of the planes for us to use but not all of us where that lucky to get one. We where freeezing !!! We then had a £10 voucer given to us the next morning, again other passengers told us there was still no THOMAS COOK rep. iv cut this story short as there was a lot going on. we eventuly boared again the next day to fly at 12.5.we set off down the run way to be told sorry we would have to turn around as there was extra cases on board, then i think it was 5 more people had got on. i think we then flew about 1 1/2 hrs later.! we had booked premier,as we wanted to treat our selfs for xmas, about 4 hrs before we where due to land my partner went down and asked for a drink for us both, He was told sorry they had run out  We later learned that everyone was having free drinks as compensation, we had 2 and we had upgraded. What a waste off money. Alll this just spoilt our holiday i was ill for 3 days with a migraine caused by tiredness and stress. can you now understand while it was a 4 page letter there was othere things too but i am so angry about it all i can`t put it all down. And we just recived a 2 page saying sorry !!! but it was due to weather, but there where othere planes that took of after we should of flown

Hi.
It all sounds awful. I hope you won't mind me giving you a couple of pointers on how to complain effectively.
You need make it clear and BRIEF why you are dissatisfied. Be polite whilst still making clear the level of your dissatisfaction. Try to bullit point your main concerns.
You need to make it clear also what you would like to happen as a result of your complaint.
Send your complaint to senior management or customer services- try to find a name.
Keep a record of events and any evidence you have.
Your correspondence is much less likely to end up in the bin if it is seen by the right person, easy to read, and precise in content.
Hope that helps.0 -

There's tons of people on HT that had the same probs as us, and we all got about £40 each for the delays, it's £20 for every 12 hours"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Sounds like Thomas Cook are trying to fob you off without meeting their obligations under EU regulations - post on FlightMole who are the experts on this.0
