o2 online shop - PAYG to contract
Options
as the title says... i want to upgrade to contract through the o2 online shop. has to be done online, mainly for quidco cashback reasons.
if i buy a contract phone, can i take my o2 PAYG number?
there is no mention of porting when i check out. i have read all the relevant help pages too, but mentions of upgrades relate to other networks, and the 'more info' links are broken.

if it's o2 pay as you go to o2 contract it's not porting. porting is to another network. I think you'll find you need to ring and speak to someone at o2 to do it. Didn't seem to be a problem when i was thinking about it, thpugh I never went through with it in the end0

o2 online payg, o2online contract, o2 payg offline & o2 contract offline are run as separate o2 entities ( so they compete with each other ie more sales )
taking out a o2 contract will involve o2 porting your number from payg to o2 online contractIf I helped or saved you money - Thank me
If I helped you spend some money - spank me
If I done both - :lipsrseal me:eek:0 -

only o2 offline and o2 online are run as seperate companies, not the contract and PAYG within each option, so 2 entities, not 4
I had no problems changing from o2 online PAYG to offline PAYG, they did it there and then when i spoke to the bloke on the phone, although it does cause you to lose bolt ons, but a quick moan soon gets them to add them back on.0 -
kai666, what's the advantage of going on offline PayG with O2? I always thought the rates were the same but Online has the added advantage of the extra mins and texts???
Apologies to OP for going off topic.0 -
