yes yes have a good laugh..how do you rename a link (ie you want to shorten http//blahblahblahetc to ''this is a good site''

if you're talking about on these forums, then simply type 'this is a good site' then highlight the words. Then click the insert link button (little globe with a chainlink on it) and a little prompt box comes up. Simply paste in the link. and ta da.
If you are talking about when making a website: (or in an email that can use HTML)
<a href="http://www.blahblahblah.com">this is a good site</a>
just change the blah blah blah and the this is a good site to whatever you want.0 -

look, if you want to shorten links you have to use HTML, its hardly much, just copy it... all you have to remember is:
<a href="[insert URL here]">[title]</a>
if you cant, or cant be bothered to remember that, then just stick to pasting in the whole URL.0 -
