hello, I have just been checking through old accounts and find that AOL are debiting my credite card by £2.49 /month and have been since I left them for Tiscali in August 08. I have had a refund once and told them to stop taking money. If I contact the AOL member services number they say it is the American company that is still taking the money /they can do nothing about it and direct me to an AOL web site ,the page I need dosnt work so I called the members number again, they gave me another link ,that dosnt help either, I can find no way to contact them.Has anyone else had this and how did they get a refund. This has been going on for over a year, I know I should have noticed it earlier....
Can anyone help?

Call your credit card company. They should be able to refund all the disputed payments and stop any further debits.0

I just checked my old credit card statements and discovered they took 10 payments for £2.49 from me in October 09 and £2.49 a month since then. Like you I'm getting nowhere with AOL.0

I managed to get a contact email and have just received the following response:
thank you for your recent email. We have reviewed your account history and found that the amount debated originates from the cumulative charge of outstanding monthly invoices. This may be due to a change in the payment method or declining of individual charges.
Please be advised that we consider the charges to be legitimate and will not apply a refund for the amount debated.
I cancelled McAffee back in 2008.There has been no problem on the card used as payment method.
Can anyone advise which bodies I should contact to make an official complaint to please.

HI, Ive contacted my credit card issuer to see if they can stop the payment, they say that it cant be stopped but are opening a dispute with AOL I expect the paper work soon and will let you know how I get on. Is there a safer way to pay for broadband without giving the blighters access to your credit cards. ??
Surely this is theft and who should we contact to complain?
I'm not surprised to find that others are having similar problems. One man I spoke to on the AOL member services number told me it was the American company still taking the money but the credit card statements clearly say AOL UK.0
