I am thinking of switching telephone providers from B.T to Primus saver, B.T are already the most expensive phone provider and now they plan to change the time that the free evening call start from currently 6pm to 7pm starting on the 1st April to get even more money out of us.
So I have had enough of being “ripped off” from B.T and I want out, I have found a company called Primus saver but I don’t know much about them and was wondering if anyone out there already use them and could answer some questions
I am planning to go for the free daytime, evening, and weekend calls for £10.99 line rental +£2.89 package charge a month (which is cheaper than B.T for line rental +evening and weekend package)
But how much does primus charge for connection charge for each call made (B.T charge 9.5p per call)
I know primus charge for sending you a paper bill but how do you pay your phone bill – can you pay over the post office counter and is there a charge for this or can you only pay by direct debt.
And of course as a phone provider how does Primus compare to B.T has anyone had any problems with them in the past
Primus just seems too good to be true with the package I am considering it will cost me just £13.88 per month then I will get all my calls free all day evening and weekend apart from the call connection fee (and the cost of the paper bill) is this correct
I found about them on this site

Any info appreciated

You can get it for as little as £9.15 a month see http://www.homephonechoices.co.uk/article.asp?id=primus-exclusive-line-rental&partner=mse
"
Important information
Bear in mind that the prices in the table above are on the basis that you pay by monthly direct debit, otherwise there is an additional £5 charge.
Primus offers customers itemised paperless billing - you won’t get a paper bill in the post. If you want a paper bill that will cost an additional £1.76 a month. Primus line rental plans have a 12-month contract length and are subject to a 30 day notice period."

No, Virgin Media is the most expensive.B.T are already the most expensive phone provider and now they plan to change the time that the free evening call start from currently 6pm to 7pm starting on the 1st April to get even more money out of us.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

my sister has virgin media for her internet, telephone cable tv and h.d box, its a pakage and she was able to haggle down the price with the threat of leaving themNo, Virgin Media is the most expensive.
she was able to negotiate for the faster speed internet and all available channels at the cost of the basic package0 -

The calls will not be free if you have to pay for them.;)
They will raise a call connection charge for non -inclusive calls only.
Are 0845/0870 calls included they are with BT
They charge 56 p a month extra for caller display its inclusive with BT subject to you making couple of calls a month.
Their calls to mobiles are dearer then BT.
Just noticed they dont have a call connection charge, instead they have a minimum chargeable call charge of 4p and operate minute billing.0 -

I was wondering my last quartily bill with B.T was about £110
would my new bill with Primus day, evenining & weekend package be £41.64 per quarter (excluding vat) or would there be some "hidden charges0 -

is it a company that you join and put that number before you key in the number of the person you want to call - if so that seems like a lot of hassle, I dont have speed dial on my phones0
