They belong to the SDG or Shop direct group which also incudes many brands: VERY, Choice, Kays, Empire stores, GUS, Additions, Marshall Ward.
I opened a GUS with a £750 limit, but they did 7 credit searches:eek:
I phoned their credit control and said they would contact Equifax, but as of today still not sorted:mad:0 -

Doing more than one search breached "The Principles Of Reciprocity" which forms SDG's agreement with Equifax. Report them to Equifax for non conformity.
You can actually push for compensation on this. SDG should not delay in sorting this and Equifax should help. If you ring Equifax start quoting "Principles of Reciprocity" and the usual Customer Service pleb will immediately elevate your call to a senior bod.
I had a similar incident with multiple searches and got well compensated!! But you have to know about the Principles of Reciprocity and I guess they rely on people not knowing.
It is my opinion that these types of errors on people's credit files should attract an immediate compensation scheme. Then stupid people like SDG would stop being so careless if they had to shell out say £500 for each of your "additional" unauthorised searches.0 -
If you use the account regularly and pay more than the minimum payment then it will increase. Was given £600 to start with few months ago and now it is over £2000, which I will never use....
Unfortunatly I've been given a miniscule 200 I don't have much of a credit history, I've a new vanquis account with 250 limit and a barclays premier account with 150 personal reserve which I've never used.0 -
As you use the account your credit limit will change depending on how you manage it, (payments, etc.)
I've had catalogues in the past, but I really don't like them much
Cheers, HG0 -
b33, that's good! It gives you a base to show you can be trusted. You don't want to start with a massive one and not be able to cope with repayments.** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

Not trying to teach you to suck eggs, but please be careful, it's so easy to buy things now because it's on credit, then struggle to pay it back, especially if you don't pay it off before the free credit period ends.
Been there done that, now very much learnt my lesson. Hopefully you are a lot more sensible than I used to be :T0 -

I don't have much credit but I know I can manage it, I just want to be able to walk into a department store in the future or something like that and be able to open an account without being embarrassed if you know what I mean.0 -

Wonder how much they get charged for a ''search'' by Equifax?
