Next step from Vanquis?

Maybe the IVA mark in my Experian file is the major negative for my case perhaps?
It'll definitlely be the IVA tha's causing the problems. It's pretty much as bad as bankruptcy while it's on your credit file, your defaults pale into insignificance compared to that.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
I started with Vanquis and Aquacard about 6 months after IVA finished ( 3 years only so defaults still shoing ) and then progressed to Capitalone, then Ulsterbank (RBS)and now Silvermastercard ( sygma)
Hubby and I both got Silver and Ulsterbank.TOTAL 44 weeks lose. 6st 9.5lb :T0 -

Árse.
I guess I will have to wait another 2 years for the IVA to go from my credit file before applying for "normal" credit then!
Oddly enough it only shows up on my Experian file (not Equifax) - not sure about CallCredit though?0 -
I suppose you could start a new thread called 'Which CC's do not search Experian'Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Well according to Underground's thread here I could possibly try:
- Barclaycard (although their pre-application check said no already)
- Monument (not accepting new applications apparently)
- Nationwide
- Northern Bank
- Vanquis (already with them LOL so no)

Can I ask how many years after the start of the IVA you were accepted for the Silver Sygma and Ulsterbank ie was it still on your credit file?
I have recently completed an IVA by way of Full & Final settlement after 3 years, I got accepted by Vanquis a few weeks ago so will hopefully be able to move up the ladder as time goes on. I don't need the credit but am trying to strengthen my file for when the defaults and IVA drop off in order to obtain a mortgage. Just looked at the Sygma site though and it says:
Finally, you need to have a clean credit history, ie, no arrears, defaults, County Court Judgements (CCJs), bankruptcies or Individual Voluntary Agreements (IVAs).0
