Yes it will be a big bed, as per teh other commenst you spend 1/3 of your life there so its worth it being big. Its more out of desite than neccisity I am only 6ft and my partenr is 5' 4".

In regarsd to teh mattress bending, this will not be an issue the route to the bedroom is clear and will not require being around doors.

thanks for the repsonses so far, I am still hopeing for the 8x7.

Mine is a superking, which is 6x6.5 I think.

    It MASSIVE

You sure you want one bigger than that?

That was my thoughts exactly. A 7' x 8' mattress would take up most of the free floor space in my bedroom.

Another consideration is getting bedding to fit it.

I don't mean because of bedroom size (I'm sure they will have measured their bedroom), my bedroom is a large & my superking size bed fits easily in it, its 18.5 x 12 foot.

But just the feel of the bed, mine feels massive, I wouldn't want DH to be any further away than he is. Its like sleeping alone:(

Sorry, I should have mentioned the bedroom size in another paragraph. I did realise what you meant, and I agree with you. A superking mattress is big enough for two people to both spread out, so it gets to a point where there is no point in it being any bigger.

I think a standard superking is 6 foor wide by 6.5 foor long & its huge.

Standard super king size is actually 6' x 6'6". It will be far easier to buy bedding for a standard size.

That's what Mrs E said 6 foot by 6 and a half foot long?!

OP definitely best to get a standard size so you don;t have to have sheets made for you!

    no it is not massive!

say you are 6", you need a bit of head room and if you sleep outstreached then those few inches soon vanish and you toes end up sticking out - not nice inwinnter or have them hitting the frame :)
