Porting number from orange to tmobile

Hi there,

I am about to take out a new contract with TMobile and want to port my number from orange.

I need to ring up orange and get the PAC number and pass that onto TMobile, but then what happens? Am I without a working mobile phone line for a few days until it is ported, or can I still use the phone? Also, how long roughly does it take? I had a look online and it says up to 7 days is it usually that long or can it be done quicker.

Sorry if stupid questions, never done it before!

Thank you Sam

  • You'll use the T-Mobile default number for the time being while the process is being carried out. The most you'll be without a phone for is a couple of hours towards the end of the process when the actual changeover happens.

Oh thats good to know - I had visions of being out of contact for a week which would be far from ideal.
  • In both of the porst I made in the last 3 years there was an hour when BOTH phones worked. Only one rang but I could call out from both
