  • For me today:
    • Go to work
    • Take cash out for the week - we'll see if it lasts!
    • Dinner from stores
    • Lunch out with OH before he goes away for 10 days on hol
    • Batch cook chilli for lunches next week
    • Check banking, quidco
    • Not go out after work to the pub -instead go home and enjoy catching up with masterchef
    That's itI think!
  • Hi all, although not a regular on this thread I just have to tell someone our good debtbusting news for today and thought this the best place to share...

The day started with some trepidation as we waited to see how much went into the bank account for my OH last weekly wage from the job he left last week. We were expecting about £250 (because we thought there would be about £120 deductions for training course costs etc.). We checked online banking first thing and were astounded to see just over £500!! It is such a relief and will give us a nice buffer until we are able to establish what the new weekly wage (very dependant on OT hours) will be.

Second point that cheered us up no end, was that our mortgage lenders Santander had written to say that we could swap over to a new LOWER mortgage rate now and not pay any exit fees even though our fixed rate wasn't due to end until June 2010. We did this today and because of the interest rate being lower we were able to transfer 6OK of our mortgage back to repayment. (We have been paying INT only for the last 20 months to enable us to stay afloat and repay debts etc.). The monthly payment remains the same, but will start making headway into the debt again.

I am thrilled and feel the gods and the angels have blessed us today.

OH goes off to work at 3:00am this morning and I'm sure we have some adjusting to do as a family to his new hours, but right now I feel like things are looking up.

    (thanks for listening).

    xxx
