    Thanks
Yes he does actually own the house and his name is on the contract . Think he's probably just up to tax fiddling or something by pretending that he was not the person receiving the rent to me. Checked elsewhere as and its his name on tenancy and he is the landlord it doesn't actually matter that he lied to me about his name - its just odd and something I will broach with HMRC - just to check he's doing the right thing you understand!!

Just to keep you all up to speed then I sent him two copies of a formal letter ( 12 pages !!!!) one registered post and one one next day delivery incase he refused to sign for the recorded and
    a) Asked to be released mid May from contract ( earliest I can afford to move) and for him to confirm in writing in 14 days
    b) Asked for details of where deposit was held within 14 days and if its not deposited to confirm within 14 days that this is used as last months rent otherwise will sue for 3 x deposit
    c) Asked for copy of gas safety cert to cover from last July within 14 days

Also listed all repairs undone ,all repairs done to a bad standard , the fact we have had to pay for repairs , the dates on which we contacted him and did he did nothing

Also listed repairs which need to be done before we leave and that I will only allow qualified people who can show me credentials to work on the electrics as they're currently off due to a live wire to the flooded light (live even with breaker turned off!!) and that if I do not hear from him in the 14 days I will get the EHO to confirm the premises is unfit for habitation .

Am trying to get the EHO to come anyway ( tried again and got fobbed off so will cc councillors as advised in tomorrows communication) so he can't let this to someone else without them being aware of the state of the place

Anything else I should be doing ????
