The customer service for Three is the total pits.
The time I was with them their customer services were in Scotland and in India.
The Scottish team would pay transfer the customer with you then the last person would cut you off, while the Indian team would pretend not to understand you or threaten you.
Strangely when I mentioned OFCOM the Indian team finally understood me and sorted things out................
I prefer to use proper building societies i.e. Nationwide for my main personal banking. Their teams tend to be based in the UK.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Barclays will usually transfer back to the UK. In fact the number I get told to ring for my student account is UK-based, so I always get a UK person.** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

3 Mobile is seemingly Indian based and when I've called all responses seem almost scripted and spoken very s-l-o-w-l-y which annoys the hell out of me!0

O2?
Correct.
Don't think any of the others are - O2 pushed this as a big selling point to it's staff as part of a tariff refresh when I worked there.
When I called T-Mobile to port my number in I got a call centre in Wales - but I guess they're not going to give you an Indian call centre for the department that deals with your first impression of them (apart from sales) when you're still in that elusive 14 day cooling off period :rotfl:
Nationwide are UK based or at least I've only ever spoken to a UK call centre both with Credit Card Services and normal telephone banking.0 -

Do Vodafone have UK call centres?0

Nationwide have UK call centres, but when I had to deal with them a few months back when some !!!! committed fraud with my account details they were poor. The staff were rude, hard to get any information out of and couldnt wait to get me off the phone.
I spoke to three in India a few days back and I got through quickly and the lady was helpful and sorted my problem out quickly.
If a company are going to put call centres in india etc I dont mind as long as the people I am dealing with are well trained, and have the authority and ability to deal with my problems.0 -

T-Mobile definitely don't. I try to go with companies with UK only call centres but it is getting to the stage where I won't be able to have any services any more!!
O2 has call centres in Leeds and Glasgow as far as I know. I think Leeds might be for mobile related calls and Glasgow for broadband calls.
I know HBOS, Lloyds TSB, RBS and Natwest and the Co-Op all have call centres in the UK, although some might have call centres abroad as well.
I have no problem with call centres abroad. Dell and Three both have call centres in India and I have never had an issue with either, in fact I was very impressed with the service from both. Virgin Media's support is also based in India and isn't so good, but nothing terrible. I don't think you can label all foreign call centres as bad - it's just like UK based call centres, some are good and others are crap.
As for the BNP issue which has come up in this thread, there's no point arguing about it on an online forum. The best way to defeat the BNP is to join a real political party and vote against the extreme right on election day.0
