My partner applied for DLA 7 weeks ago. What is the average waiting time for a decision to be made? My partner was receiving the equivalent when she lived in Australia so we thought the process would be quite straight forward.

    She remains patient! :)
If its the first claim can take up to 12 weeks sometimes longer depending if they require more information
:oAutism isn't the end of the world just a journey to another one:)
:eek:Why do people answer your questions just to be rude and unhelpful, don't like my question please don't answer:eek:

25 March - decision letter arrived - flatly turning down my partner's claim! Everything she cannot do without help, difficulty or pain they say she can do - almost as if they are saying she is an out and out liar.

See my appeal letter thread- that is EXACTLY what they said to me as well. Its as if they didn't read my claim form or the letter from the speciliast at all.

Have you appealed? What's the outcome so far?

Received another knock back in this morning's post - they have reconsidered and decided that the original decision is correct! So apparently she has been lying!!!!!!

Off to CAB on Thursday armed to the teeth with paperwork - watch this space. Thanks to everyone for your comments - morale boosting at this difficult time.
