I always thought that rollback meant permanent as it said in their adverts. I'm forever telling my DH that we don't need to buy more of those as they're on rollback which means they won't go up in price. Better not let him see this thread or i'll get "I told you so".0

Well I must say I always thought rollback meant long term, I don't see how you can see a price as permanent, of course it's going to go up at some point. I remember my dad once collaring an assistant and pointing out that the "rollback" had indeed rolled sideways, as the two prices on the huge poster were the same. It's definitely not definately!0

All supermarkets do this, I'm in Tesco most of the time so notice it there; 2L bottles of Tesco lemonade were 25p in December, and they are 39p now.0

The worst one I have seen is in Tesco, where they have put the price up of Finish 4-in-1 Dishwasher Tablets (45s) from £4.98 to £8.98.
The original price was £4.98 (May) then a new Finish 5-in-1 version was introduced. Did the price of the discontinued 4-in-1 go down to clear? No, it went up to £8.98, then temporarily down again in June, now it's back up again!
This size pack does not appear on the Tesco 'price-check' listing (wonder why?). I emailed their Head Office and was told to take my receipt into a branch where they could do a price-check?!
I give up, think I may email the manufacturer in the hope of a nice coupon!!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I asked a SA a few weeks ago if rollback meant that it was a special offer and she said no, that it was a permenant price change. Maybe they need to tell there staff what it means0

just been reading the Asda magazine that you get free instore... and wherever it promotes something on rollback sometimes it quotes an 'end of rollback date' too! for eg, in the July issue it it says 'OXO Cubes, Rolled Back to 50p from 63p until 6 August' very surprised, as i mentioned earlier i neva knew this but i do agree with wot some ppl hav sed that prices cant just keep goin down-fair point but as we hav concluded-very misleading!0
