An american has asked me to send either a "cashier's check" or "money order" to his address in America. Bank transfer is not an option.
How do I get a cashier's check/money order in the UK? Or what is it's equivalent?

You buy one from your bank. Make sure you know exactly you are sending it to,0

Yes bank drafts as they are also known cost about £20.
As previous poster states make sure the transaction is kosher before sending the money.0 -
Some banks will write a cashiers cheque for free, or for less than a bankers' draft anyway#145 Save £12k in 2016 Challenge: £12,062.62/£12,000.00 Beginning Balance: £5,027.78 CHALLENGE MET
