You need to wander around the jewellery quarter - there are loads of manufacturing jewellers there. I used to have stuff made by Wayne at E L Chaplain on Frederick Street, Hockley but I havent been there for yonks so don't know if he is still there.0

Yep, think thats what I will do this weekend, will be nice to get out of london if nowt else0

Try the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter instead as they may be cheaper - in London you pay London prices.
I agree, if you can do it go to the jewellery quarter in Birmingham
I brought my B2B's platinum ring from there. My Best Man took me there as he's a jeweller himself so i got a platinum engagement ring at cost price. I dont live very far from there (10 miles) and it was my first time there. Youve got loads of jewellers/watch makers to choose from over there so either make a weekend trip and stay over or check the companies out online (as your doing already) before you go

I got mine from Cry for the Moon in Guildford, they sell loads of antique rings plus they have their own jewellers who make some to! It is expensive enough but very reasonable for what you get0

Hi
we used crystalink on Hall St in the Birmingham jewellery quarter for bespoke platinum engagement ring for me and bespoke platinum wedding rings for both me and my partner.

Prices much cheaper instore than online though to be honest.
They are amazing. Really helpful. Good prices and beautiful jewellery.
It's the only thing we have spent money on because these pieces will hopefully last forever.

Went to the Birmingham over the weekend, turned out i'm better off in London, all the quotes with the exception of one were more than in Hatton Garden :huh:0

We had Harriet Kelsall as well! Although mine was white gold, not platinum. OH did all the liaising over the phone/email to design the engagement ring and then we went in person to get the wedding rings done. Very happy with all three

My boyfriend and I travelled up from Devon to the Birmingham jewellery quarter a couple of weeks ago, after seeing posts on the forum. I would totally recommend doing this! The choice is amazing compared to the high street and we were able to afford a much better quality ring then what we could at home. We saved hundreds of pounds!!!!!- so the journey was well worth it, and we shall definatly be going back for our wedding rings.
After spending a day looking around the quarter we bought our ring from Crystalink on Hall Street (the same place as Snich!) who I thoroughly recommend! They were so helpful & friendly and the ring is gorgeous! The jeweller kindly altered the ring for us as we required and arranged for it to be delivered to us at home by special delivery!
Not many people can say they have met the Jeweller that made their ring, and it is great to support a family business too rather than the high street giants!
Hope this info helps X

I'm not sure if its because I want something totally bespoke to the point where even the head has to be handmade, or they hear the London accent and think this one must be rich, but I really found Brum a waste of time, they were far too expensive

If you can wait until jewellery week - early June I think - you can pick up some discounted gems at Hatton Garden. I went there last year, guzzled a load of free champagne and had a high old time w/o spending a penny!Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
