Did you nan give authorisation for you to discuss your account with them? If not they've broken data protection and should be reported.fairygirl24 wrote: »Ive just rang up and they take £30 a month fees. So nan owes £186 per month to debts and they will be paying £156 to the debts and taking the 30. Her main debt is Provident which she took out 1 year ago (ive only recently started looking after her finances since my grandad passed away) She took £1000 and has to pay £2047 back :eek: She still has to pay half this back. The guy on the phonesaid national debtline didnt do as much for the customer (of course he has to say that) but im just off to look into it now for her.
Thanks for all the help and to pp, it was a cold call (i've told her off for giving details out to cold calls) I did sign her up to tps but this one must have sliped through...Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Get your nan to be ex directory, phone BT or who ever her home phone provider is. I wouldn't leave it, you never know who she may give her card details to.
IA - its a shame you've edited your signature, you are very knowledgeable on this board, and you should be proud of your occupation, you have worked hard for it, never mind the few posters judging you, its the majority of the posters you are helping that matter.0 -

Thanks. I'm really proud of what I do but unfortunately some people started making derogatory comments about my own personal comments and me 'representing' my organisation so I had no choice if people couldn't that see my posts are here don't consitute advice or opinions of who I work for...Get your nan to be ex directory, phone BT or who ever her home phone provider is. Shouldn't there be a 7 day 'cooling-off period'? As it was as a result of a Sales Call?
Or do they get away with it?

I no IA, I saw them, its a shame people are judging you. I'm finding the site overall a little less friendly than it used to be. I may have only signed up with this username in 2008 but I have been using the site far longer, my sister found out my old username, so I had to make a new one, as I didn't want her to know too much about the debt I had at the time.0

The cancellation terms should've been explained to her when she agreed, it should also be followed up in writing...Shouldn't there be a 7 day 'cooling-off period'? As it was as a result of a Sales Call?
