Why aren't Payplan recommended by MSE anymore?

Im with angeluk, it wasn't till the other day did i read the post that PayPlan aren't recommended anymore, I believe CAB do still recommend them though as my ex-Landlord gave me details to pass on before i came to MSE.

I think that might be CCCS you are thinking about (which are partially funded by 'the credit industry')

They were in a lot of people's signatures, but not sure about that article?
archive.org isn't cooperating at the moment, so I can't check.

End of the day, helping to get out of debt has to be a free service for obvious reasons, if they touted for paid business when it was not a suitable option, i don't blame you.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
