Bobbly Asda Cardidgan - Wear and Tear ?

My husband bought me an asda cardigan at the end of November last year. I have worn the cardi around 8 times and washed it twice and on both sides there is bobbling. My husband took the cardi and receipt to asda the other day but they have refused to refund the cardi as its 'wear and tear'. This I could understand if the item was a few years old but 3 months ? I know asdas clothes are not the best quality but I am annoyed that they will not refund the item.
Is it realistically down to wear and tear after 8 wears ?
The receipt also showed we had spent £65 on clothes and none of the other items ( which were also woollen ) have not gone bobbly and they have been worn more times than the cardi.
Hubby spoke to customer service and then manager and both stood there ground.

There no way I'd expect anything from George at Asda to last a few years!0

I run one of these 'fuzz remover' over my clobber when it goes bobbly - works a treat http://www.!!!!!!!!!.com/product_info.php?language=en¤cy=GBP&products_id=5849 Bought mine in some cheap shop (Poundstretcher of somewhere, cost about £5 but well worth it, I've used it loads of times).
OK - type 1 top store in the edited bit - and typed as all one word, no spaces. Though I'm not saying buy it from there, just showing you an example of what a de-fuzzer looks like (& it won't make holes in your jumper).0 -
It's cheap Asda crap !!!!!!. Debobble it as suggested above and consider getting a hubby who knows quality!0

I took something woollen back to Asda due to bobbling. Luckily they refunded me but I would have stood my ground if not.:A

Same happened to me.
A bit skint at the moment so bought a couple of cheap jumpers from Asda for the first time. Both started bobbling after a couple of washes.
I know they're cheap but you expect to get more than a couple of washes out of them.Just chalked it down to experience and won't bother with Asda clothes again.0 -

I have cashmere that bobbles
I have a real pashmina,pashmina that bobbled
It has nothing to do with price
I bought a monsoon sweater for £75 that bobbled terribly
It does not make the item faulty in the eyes of the law its just annoying
I have a £10 acrylic tescos jumper that has never bobbled and iv'e had it approx 6 months"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."
All truth goes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Then, it is violently opposed. Finally, it is accepted as self-evident.0 -
If you buy a cheap and nasty cardigan expect it to be... well, cheap and nasty. The Summer Holiday of a Lifetime0

some fabrics do bobble hun, but to be honest - what do you expect from asda? they use the cheap fabrics , the untrained pattern cutters, and its made up in sweatshops. if you are lucky the clothes survive a few washes! I used to work in a factory which supplied M&S back in the seventies - the fabrics were good quality, the the pattern cutters the best, and us sewing machinists - well - we had targets to meet but quality was paramount.
its not like that now - and Asda use overseas firms - and havent you wondered how they can do that for the price? I can tell you how - by using child labour - and unskilled workers. the clothes look ok on the hangers - but they are carp! they dont wash well they dont wear well and to be honest - they arent worth the price you pay for them!0
