You shouldn't run it consistently with so little fuel in it. You'll be dragging all the crap up from the bottom of the fuel tank into the fuel lines, which probably now need flushing out.I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

Is that why micra drivers travel at 20mph regardless of what road they're driving on?I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

Thanks to both for your comments.
1. Yes your right. You're saying I need the fuel tank and lines flushing?
2. You might be onto something there.0 -

If it's only happening when fuel is low, it sounds like a possibility.I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

Just fill it up, and keep it almost full, it is potentially dangerous as it is.
That is until you get it fixed properly of course.;)0 -
sounds as though the fuel guage is telling porkies, i would advise changing the fuel filter. and dont let the guage drop below 1/4 tank0

This is an urban myth, because tanks drain from the bottom, and because engines have fuel filters.
OP, put more fuel in it.0 -
Should I get anything cleaned out dudes?
Im a broke biatch!! I cant afford to stay topped up all the time.
I want my car to run on at least £5 of fuel, which as indicated by the car is not even worth an alert?
How can I resolve this problem so that I can run on that amount of petty? The only way of me topping up to the rim is to put another 8 hours in at mcdonalds for £100
