Aw bless - its cold and wet and blowy mostly! Having slithered home - I'm not venturing out again - I was supposed to be going ot look at carpets etc at the new house - but not in this!

    Where are you based now?

I'm in Yorkshire now, not too far away. :) I do love all the Scottish islands though. The last 'tour' we did was Mull & Iona. So pretty.

Josieb - looking forward to finding out how your baked spuds turn out. Might need to give that a try.

Josieb - looking forward to finding out how your baked spuds turn out. Might need to give that a try.

Taken them out of the slow cooker and they're cooked through, just going to rub them with butter and stick in oven for a bit to try and crispy up...not sure though...
Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!

  • Hi everyone,

I LOVE these threads for ideas!

    Today:

    - Took homemade soup and a yoghurt to work for lunch, so no spend there.

    - Paperwork for online banking came in today - This is the first time I've had the guts to actually sit down and work out exactly what my bills are and what I'm left with - Pretty surprised at how much money I SHOULD have left and now committing myself to figure out where it's all going with a tight weekly budget.

    - I've already committed to 'dropping a brand' for the whole month to see how much I can save, so bought a savers loaf and some savers biscuits - great to hand over just £1 and actually get change back!

    - Just made a HUUUUUUUGE pot of quorn pasta bolognaise which will feed us tonight and leave about 5 portions, so thats tomorrow's lunch and some of the weekend taken care of!

    - Made a payment towards my IKEA Card - My priority to get rid of - but hoping to have some spare cash before next payday to make an extra payment if I continue to cut back.
    :A2014 = my year for change!
:mad:Credit Cards are NOT my friends and I'm NOT playing with them anymore:p
