Another newbie slow cooker question

If I'm adding pulses to the slow cooker I know I have to soak them and bring them to the boil first but not sure how long I need to boil them for

I think it's 20 minutes you have to boil them for but I'm sure someone will come along soon to give you the correct answer.

My book says ten, and this is to help break down the proteins in order to help them cook. Some, such as lentils, don't really need this done.

On the safety side, if you are not using tinned kidney beans (which are already cooked) then they must be boiled for about ten minutes to remove toxins.
