yes i have proof it was sent at the post office so they stuck the stamp on.
would it be worth me taking the cop in next time i go and asking if they can sort me out with a refund like that or will it involve lots of forms lol I know its not a large sum of money but still means i've made no money on it now.

You will need to make a proper claim on the RM standard claim form. I had to do a lot of these a few years back.

You will need proof of the payment made by your buyer though, then send that together with your original proof of pstage to RM and explain that their postage fell off en route after being attached at the post office, and they will refund.

  • I always get moaned at in the PO now for using non standard RM postal bags. there seems to be some sort of issue with their labels coming off, so what I do now is make the address label big enough for them to stick ther postage on. Or just do the postage via Paypal. You get a POP printed and the buyer gets an automatic email to say its been posted. Much easier.

The post labels are fine on all my mailing sacks, sometimes though the PO uses stamps (and always for standard large letters) an it them that fall off. I now either use jiffy bags for large letter items or I buy a book of large letter stamps as they are self adhesive and don't slide off, if the PO stick on a large letter stamp they use the ones you lick and you see them just slide off the packaging.

I have never yet had a printed label fall off.

  • it was a stick on normal stamp as far as i'm aware (dh took them to po)
i doubt the buyer got a reciept i have asked them no response yet, but have made my mind up not to go to that particular po again, it always seems to be the same one that either over charges or complains about the amount of parcels i have or stamps fall off!

i'll stick to the nice one from now on, a bit of a pain as they are shut on a wed though but always helpfull and friendly.
  • You can claim the amount the buyer had to pay in postage plus the £1.00 surcharge fee. I had a similar situation a few weeks ago where they charged the buyer £6.90 for an item I had sent recorded delivery and which I had already paid £5.90 for.

In all honesty for £1, I wouldnt think its worth the hassle claiming from RM. If its more, Id see the point, but if its £1, I wouldnt bother, but thats me. You may want to pursue this
