  • Sorry can you confirm what your employer has said about SSP? SSP1s are only issued when you arent entitled to SSP or it has expired...(after 26wks)

    When you next due pay?

Hi. Sorry it's taken me so long to reply, but had no internet! Problems with the exchange line to my home. Took your advice and applied for I.S. Told I would probably be entitled to a top up and it would be back dated. Sent all the paperwork off now and am just waiting to see what the result is. The payments of £118 and £63 were SSP and this is all I have had for the time being. So difficult at the moment. Have completed the paperwork for CCCS but not returned yet as I have not been on here to see if people think it is the best option for me and would really appreciate any input you can give. I am so new to all of this and would welcome advice from you "old hands"! Creditors have been good for this month, but can't see them being so nice again next month. Am back to work tomorrow, so will be short again this payday, but at least will have some income. Am going to go and chec out the Co-Op site now and try and set that up, so HSBC can't take any more of my hard earned cash in bank charges. If my income doesn't go into that account this month and there are charges and my overdraft still outstanding, can they request these in one go? THanks very much everyone - this is being such a great help :)

I changed banks despite an overdraft, loan and CC. I went to the co op basic account which is brilliant, no OD but you do get a debit card, this account is specifically for people with financial problems so you do not need a good credit rating to get one. before i did that my previous bank took money out to service my debts with them despite me asking to pay token amounts, they are allowed to do this. I also talked over my options with CCCS they are very helpful.

As you will see from my thread, I have been unable to get online for the longest time  bu have just opened my account with Co-Op Bank, so thank you very much for pointing me in their direction and I hope his goe some way to getting myself back onto the straight and narrow! Have you had a good relationship with them and has it helped you out by moving across?
