From other posts on these forums, it will be declined.

It looks if that isn't strickly true. I've just logged on and my second account is now set up.

From (a rapidly failing) memory, others have had duplicate accounts set up with one or the other of the HBOS banks subsequently closed - a search on these forums will either corroborate or show my memory to be fallible.

I know what you mean about the memory. Seems silly for them to set up a new account and then close it especially if they are aware of the multiple accounts senario. You would think that they would check first and just decline the application.

I'll make the most of it while I can.

Seems my memory isn't quite as bad as I thought - see this post http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=29088825&postcount=3

    Good luck!

That was the case prior to October/November 2009 (I have 3, which were opened just before the T&C change) , when it was reduced to one sole & one joint.
  • I've just transferred in the £1000.00 although it wouldn't allow me to transfer it back out.

I had to move it to my original reward account and then send it back to the original account.

It's only a few days to the first so I'll let you know what happens.

Well here's an update on the 2nd reward current. I recieved a letter from the Halifax on 30/11/2010 stating that only one reward account was allowed as per the terms and conditions.

As they had already opened the 2nd account online before I got the letter and I had already transferred £1001 into the account before the 30/11/2010 and then moved £1000 back to my LLoydstsb account leaving a balance of £1, I decided to leave it and see what would happen.

I logged in today and have found that they have paid the £5 reward on both accounts.
