however i note on my lloyds online account they are inviting me to open another current account as well as the one that i already have with them.

i also have nationwide and natwest current accounts but not sure if you can have mutiples of these

Pre-01/11/10 you could have up to three Reward Current Accounts. .

So, you can still have three until 1st November this year, then?

as of 1st december 2009 people cannot have more than 1 account in sole name and 1 account in joint name, so any one that tried to apply now would either be turned down or account closed.

however whilst the terms have changed, those customers who already had 3 accounts before this date have yet to have any closed down. (though i try to avoid actually going into branch just to be on the safe side, mainly do internet banking anyway)

    Woops typo, 01/11/09.
Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.

This is really interesting, so some banks do seem quite flexible on this then? I was not aware that you can have more than one current plus at Natwest & i would guess this would be the same throghout the Natwest/RBS group?

Lloyds offered me a 2nd savings account which i have accepted but i am not sure if the same goes for thier classic current account. Still interesting to see the replies so far on this.

Thanks everyone for your input. :)

From other posts on these forums, it will be declined.
