    Translation:

To ensure we get our commission from the network, in case you were to decide to discard the included SIM and use your own, we have opened the box of your product with our grubby little fingers, fiddled with the handset, inserted the SIM and made a call using your money. Enjoy your now second hand phone and thanks for the 30p.

Bloody phones4u still up to their old tricks.

We also supply many phones without credit. This is due to the fact that like unclaimed cashback claims on contracts, if we don't load credit, it saves us money, and most people won't spend half an hour in a queue on an 0870 number (that we get paid for the time you're holding on) to complain, and if pushed we will load the credit you've paid for eventually!! What a pity that BT has stopped our call revenue on 0870 and made the calls part of inclusive landline minutes, encouraging more people to phone us.

Just about to order one of these for my Mum but on payment page its saying the courier will want me to sign for the phone - now Il be at work - parents will be in we have the same name and live in the same house.

Anyone think they will be funny about me not being there?

It does give the deliver to work option but I work in a College and reception would need to sign as Il be in class.

I dont want to put it in Mums name as I sort all the phones here and equally get all the junk emails/calls! I tend to register all the phones in my name as easier to manage.

Do you think Il be ok?

Ni i signed for both phones which were in my girlfriends name.I suppose it depends on the driver. As long as someone answers the door i cannot see any problems.
  • I dont think the courier will be bothered who signs for it, aslong as 1) its the right address he is at 2) its an adult who has answered the door

Has anyone had trouble getting the credit applied on Vodafone. I decided to wait a week, and see if they send it, but nothing. So I now have a phone which I paid for, plus a sim card that had to be topped up with £10. They charged me correctly by charging the £10, but they didn't top up the sim card. Further to my joking comment about the 0870 number, they've responded with 0871 numbers to keep their money coming up from problems like this, so I've sent them an e-mail.

My vodafone £10 credit was on the sim card, which they very kindly inserted and used for me;) It was £10 as well no charge taken off for them ringing the network, so it makes me wonder if they actually have. I suppose it stops people selling the sim cards on ebay.
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

Got an e-mail back from them saying that they will put the credit on the sim, and to allow 2 working days for this to happen. Hopefully a good result then.
