CCCS have quite a few clients who are in prison. If he is only in for a short time it might be worth putting him onto them so they can help keep his creditors at bay for a bit. He will need to call them pretty quickly though. Otherwise he should make token payments for the duration of his time inside.

Hiya fellas thanks for all the replies. His solicitor said he is looking at 4 or 5yrs, which means he's going to do at least half. My sis isn't on any of the debt with him but is worrying like mad. She doesnt want to mess his credit up while he's doing this sentance. I'll tell her to go to citizens advice, but what are CCCS???

I think he has messed his credit up himself:rolleyes: by putting himself in the position of having to go to prison in the first place!!, that said off to CAB!!!!, If I were the wife I'd try to hand back the car, no use having that hanging around her neck if she is not going to be using it.

Its not my business what hes done but does your sister really want hassle of his debtors calling and waiting 4/5 years for him?
I'd personally advise her to get on with her life apologies for sounding callous but to put herself first.Disassociate herself from him financially.Return his letters as not at that address and if possible move for a fresh start.

JAIL FOR DEBT I DONT THINK SO!!!

If the debt is for normail stuff Credit card, loan, car then you dont go to prison!! Tax YES YOU DO!!

You will get CCJ's yes and lose your assets if you dont follow the CCJ guide lines.

Think you should post what he owes and to who!
