  • i joined around september 08 but we had to spend a good year paying minimum because i was getting married ... im now struggling to part with the excess cash on debts .. i like the idea of doing stuff in the house but with the new budget it might be wise to clear more debts first and free up more income... my struggle is i dont like seeing the extra few hundred sinking in the thousands.... i like to pay it off and shut it but that would mean saving and accumulating the cash .... but i guess its all for a greater cause in the end ... i wish i could have paid more off or i wish i didnt have this in the first place !

It's hard when it's thousands and you don't feel like your getting anywhere fast.

The other cards I've cleared were around £2k, so my Lloyds one is depressing as no matter how much you pay the end is still well over a year away.

It's also harder in the summer as I'd rather use spare cash on day trips etc, but like you said it's all for the greater cause and to be debt free will be more amazing than I can ever imagine!

Do you have an anticipated debt free date?

    Pay day yippee!

After wasting £150.00 on interest this month I have managed to clear another £136.00 off my total debt. Not a huge amount, but I did have to put my holiday spending money aside this month so I'm not too disheartened.

Bring on the next pay day, 25 more to go......

yay to pay day. mine isn't until monday (boo) but OH gets paid today so i can play with his money to keep me occupied over the weekend :)

It can be hard to keep the motivation going when you're left with the larger debts, i'm down to my last interest paying debt and though i saved no problems to pay the final lump sum off my last loan i'm struggling to keep putting the overpayments away for this loan. I am putting away a fair bit but it's not enough to clear it in 8 months which was the schedule, it's more likely to be 9 months. I know it's only a month but so much else rides in it it's doing my head in.
sorry i didn't intended to get all woe is me.
  • Just knowing about is like a cripple in its self you obsess and then as you near the date you feel abit more comfortable :O keep up the good work and focus on the 8 you can do this :D xx

Hi Lemon Tree, I completely understand your frustration I would be exactly the same. Keep believing you can do it in the 8 months though, as you never know what good luck might come your way x
