Cancelling / International Contract Transfer?
Hi all,
Current situation is I am studying at a UK University & have applied to study abroad in North America for next year as part of an exchange programme. I signed up to a T-Mobile contract in November (18 months, £30 a month HTC Hero) and obviously if I am going to be out of the country for a year I won't need the phone, what would be the best way to resolve this issue as cheaply as possible?
Thanks,
Callum

Eherm pay them what you owe for the rest of the contract?
Give it to someone in the UK to use.
You cannot transfer it to T-mobile US.0 -
Try calling them, and see if they can suspend the contract (not sure whether they can or still do this?) so that you can resume from where you left off when you come back.
The phone IIRC should already be unlocked - so you should be able to get a US sim, and use your phone over there. (at least this way it'll save you from having to buy a new phone in the US - and you can pair it yourself with a cheap sim only PAYG - don't think you'll get a contract sim in the US, as you're not a permanent resident)
Or as OneADay says - pay the rest of the minimum term up, to get you out of the contract. I'm fairly sure that TMobile will discount the amount you owe, for paying it up early.
Hope this helps.

Ok, I'll try contacting T-mobile & explaining the situation to them - Thanks
