VISA for Egypt

I know I need visas but the web information as to whether to obtain here or in Egpyt is conflicting. Please could others post their recent experiences and recommendations - thanks.

My brother and I obtained them when we arrived in Egypt. When the plane arrived all passengers went to passport control and were asked to pay £10 (UK) for their visa.

There was one chap who had no cash on him and the only cash machine wasn't working (it was late at night) and I think in the end some kind samaritan 'loaned' him the cash!

How to obtain your visa at the airport:
The visa is simply a stamp (like a mail or postage stamp) that you buy from the visa office, which you arrive at, just before the immigration booth; you can't miss it! The visa will cost you around $15 and after buying it; you just stick in any empty page on your passport. Don't worry; it’s so easy! Once you have bought your visa you then stand in line to get your passport stamped by the immigration officer.

If you are flying to Sharm el Sheik and staying in one of the resorts in the Eastern Sinai then you can get a free Sinai visa.

For other airports or if you are travelling outside the Sinai you can get a visa on arrival
