I am going to use it as much needed development, I often buy cards for men as I can't think what to make, now I am now going to be forced to think of something on a regular basis. I'm looking forward to the challenge:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Congrats Rainmac - but how are you going to think of so many 'men' cards!!!!!The E-mail of the species is more deadly than the mail.0

paddingtondoo wrote: »Well done on getting a reply Toms Mum I emailed them and haven't heard anything and was happy to be a GDT for them - I like getting the challenge deets in advance - the I Did it Creations one I'm on (current challenge red white and blue plug plug!) has given me a list of themes up until October so I can have a good think about them in advance - so you do get a bit of notice - but I do understand how you feel I've been looking at the ones that use flowers and just know I woulnd't be comfortable with it or spending hours shading a Tilda - just not me LOL!
Padster Did you get your prize? Or were you emailing to accept a guest DT position? I had to email to get the Top 3 blinkie and I think that's why I got a reply, she had to send me a code for it and asked me in that email. I look at some people's cards and there is a definite style to them. I don't have a style, I think a lot of my cards are so different from each other, colour-wise, style-wise, etc. And to be honest sketches give me most of my inspiration as I'm hopeless at thinking of layouts.
Right, I'll see what I can remember.
Congrats to Rainmac - gosh, male cards! Good for you accepting, especially as your not "into" men's cards. I really struggle so usually buy them.
WBR Congrats to you too. I've just thought of something I've been wanting to try which will be perfect for your challenge so I'll do my best to enter this one.
Andymandy Great pencil bags.
PONR Have a great time.
Who asked about scoreboards? I saw on Joanna Sheen's website that she has taken her last delivery of the Martha Stewart one, wont be getting any more. I think she's selling it at £17.99 in the special offers section and there's no p+p there. I have the Hougie board. I bought it about 3 weeks ago but not used it yet. It has metric one side, scores every half centimetre, the other side is imperial and scores every half inch. I thought that would be quite useful.
Bolton 141 Hi and welcome . There's so much you can buy, it depends where your interest lies. Decoupage? Rubber stamping? Digi stamps?
If you go and look at all our blogs you might see some types of cards you'd like to try. Come back and tell us and we can go into more detail.
I wouldn't use a wet glue normally, it can wrinkle the paper or card if you're not careful, nor a glue stick as it can unstick after a while. I'm a double sided tape person. Use it for sticking decorative paper to card blanks, sticking images onto mats, etc.
You'll need a cutting mat and knife, or a guillotine, if you want to cut papers and card for mats. Foam pads if you want to layer stuff up (stick to 1mm, 2mm at most otherwise you're into hefty postal costs when sending them as they'll need to go large letter or packet rate).
Then there's decorative papers (loads available free on the internet), there are lots of digi stamp freebies on the internet. If you want to colour images Promarkers are brill but expensive. Ribbons, flowers, charms, etc., if you want to get into embellishments.
You could have a look at the Docrafts website and they have the bi-monthly magazine, Creativity - new issue just out, which is £2.50 including a free gift every month, just about the cheapest mag there is. Plenty of other mags out there, have a look in the supermarket or newsagent.
If you want to look at our blogs, go to the person's user name, click on it and from the list you'll see "Go to xxx's home page" and that's where the link to our blogs are.
Blimey, I've prattled on so much I've forgotten everything else I wanted to say. Soz peeps. Hugs to everyone. Going blog hopping now!0
