Making cards - Ideas for beginners (part 4)

Hi Nici
Thanks for that suggestion, sounds good idea to me!
Sal
xOK I've read through and clicked thanks but completely forgotten to take notes so now I can't remember who said what!!??
SallyUK - I had a similar theme for a card recently so I made my own backing paper by printing off the lyrics from Queen - Bicycle Race. It went down really well with the cycling recipient.
Hope all the owies get better soon, especially ear infections, I used to get them a lot as a kid. My sympathies on that one. (Make sure he gets a sweet after each dose of medicine - honest that bit is really important, I remember)
Well I spent last night with my big shot cutting out lots of little felt circles with my new dies. I'm going to make fridge magnets with felt caterpillars on for my sons nursery fete (Their school logo is a caterpiller). I even cut out the card to mount them on with the rectangle die, I knew I needed them for a reason and not just because I like the idea of buying more craft stash!!!
I'm tired tonight after spending most of the day trying to tackle the back log of ironing (well it feels like most of the day anyway :rotfl:)
Hugs to all

Is anyone else bored sick of the football yet? I don't mind watching the England matches but the rest is just dull! If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0

Hi all, flying in again! We had a day out today and it turned out to be a day and a half!
Started out at 9.30 to go to Wrexham, got half way there then came across an accident which closed the road, no other way to get there so turned back. Desperately needed to get some shopping done (DGD's birthday, also friend's birthday, coming up very soon and needed pressies) so we decided to head over to Llandudno. Eventually got there about 12.30.
First stop was the big craft shop to get my friend some card making stuff, oh dear I don't know how it happened but I managed to pick up a Hougie Board (£19.50 which I think is no dearer than anywhere else and a bit cheaper than some), and two 12 x 12 plastic storage boxes (only £3 each) plus some card, a decoupage sheet (unusual for me but it was cute!). Mean to spend about £5 on my friend, I ended up spending £41.50 altogether .
Went to ELC for some things for DGD, she likes to make things so bought three of their creativity range - paint your own butterfly on a really nice canvas, comes with fluffy feathers, sequins, etc., as well as the paint, decorate your own felt bags (two bags to decorate with embellies, no sewing - she's only 7), and two little dolls that are magnetic and have 22 outfits between them to dress them. They were on 3 for 2 so I was well chuffed with that and I'm sure she'll love them.
Also went to The Works and just happened to find some charms for £1 a pack, 10 butterflies in one and 8 flowers in the other. Also got a storage box for buttons etc., from Home Bargains.
All in all not bad considering I didn't go for anything for myself.
Right, I'm off to blog my CP swap card, want to get it into the animal challenge which closes tomorrow. Will blog hop and hopefully get back to normal tomorrow.
Madfrog - don't visit my blog until after you've received the card!
Oh, and I ate our first strawberry tonight, it was soooooooooo tasty. Got a few more almost ripe. I can pick the first tomato tomorrow! I really must try and update the gardening blog too.0 -

Off to go and get some work done now. I will blog my fathers day card later, it came out a bit dark, and I've already posted it so cant take another photo!May - £251.63/£155, June - £108.69/£150, July - £157.45/£155, Aug - £104.28/£155
Sept - £110.80/£150, Make £5 a day in Oct challenge = £50.50/£1550 -
Morning all hope everyone is ok?

Rainmac I am like you? Sick of the football, I watched the first England match but haven't watchdx anything since, I don't mind watching the toon though maybe that's cause the kids will watch them with OH.
Just managed to catch MIL, her dads op went well he is off all ofnhis drips and taking morphine orally, he has a wheelchair and has been measured for his new keg, things are looking good so far and he's apparently been in a good fettle which is also good but could be all of the morphi e inside him!
Can anyone point me in the direction of a get well soon card I could make? Wether it is one you have made or similar please? Preferably basic as I don't want to be insensitive?Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

Off to bed, have been on night shift, I don't like lovely sunny weather when I am on the the dark shift... At least if I wake up early I can get some crafting done I suppose0 -
